Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Game Day Set-Up Personnel
    Responsible for preparing the game-day environment, including setting up registration tents, clock operator and scorer tents, field signs, touchdown markers, and officials’ tents. Tasks may take place at Independence Park or Port Allen Soccer Fields.

  2. Clock/Score Operator
    Ensures games run smoothly by managing the scoreboard and game clock. Positioned under a designated tent, this role requires close communication with the Lead Official to maintain accurate timing and scoring.

  3. BOY (Beginning of Year) and EOY (End of Year) Parent Meeting Volunteer
    Helps coordinate key parent meetings by managing logistical tasks such as making copies, setting up directional signs, and overseeing check-ins for participants, presenters, coaches, and officials. Additional duties may include hosting and providing support as needed.

  4. Photography and Highlight Reels Specialist
    Captures pivotal moments during games and uploads them to our portal to share with schools, parents, and NFL FLAG. Collaborates with the hype team and CEO to recognize kids’ academic accomplishments at their schools, highlighting their achievements both on and off the field.

  5. Parent Survey Feedback Analyst
    Attends weekly coaches/officials meetings to present and analyze data from parent surveys. Provides insights to ensure that community resources align with parents’ needs and enhance the overall experience for families.

  6. School Hype Men/Women
    Charismatic and high-energy individuals who organize and lead school celebrations for athletes achieving behavior, attendance, or academic goals. They coordinate recognition events, assist athletes in rewarding their favorite teachers if parents cannot, and set up VIP areas for athletes' special guests during games, upon request.

  7. Disc Jockey (DJ)
    Keeps the energy high with kid-friendly music and stays updated on the latest social media dance trends. This role requires knowing every player’s personal “hype song” and playing it during school celebrations to recognize individual accomplishments.

  8. Congratulatory Tunnel Supervisor and Worker
    Ensures game days begin with celebratory energy and end with encouragement for all players. Supervises and participates in creating a tunnel of support to celebrate kids’ efforts, achievements, and perseverance.

  9. First Aid Tent Personnel
    Must be First Aid/CPR certified. Provides care for minor injuries such as cuts or bruises with parental permission. Although the league is non-contact, this role ensures safety and well-being during game days.

  10. X-men- Ensures that special needs students are able to complete drills and skills that will increase their ability to successfully play a 24 minute half of flag football. This person will help with the setup and facilitation of activities for these students. Each olympian will require 1 X-man.

  11. Coach/Assistant Coach- These USA/NFL flag football certified individuals will train kids ages 6-14yo in the techniques that will make them successful flag football players.

  • Background Check: All volunteers are required to complete and pass a background check to work with children.
